Bai Ling is a signifier who is used to identify sapphos. When she uses a street lamp as a stripper’s pole, she is signifying that she, herself, is a signpost. In the above photo, the actress in the middle was wearing a Def Leppard vest. This is significant because Bai Ling has a tramp stamp that depicts a leopard. Unlike Kristina Klebe and Natalie Burn, Bai was not in Killer Mermaid (2014). However, Kristina and Bai were in Spike Lee’s She Hate Me (2004). As for Natalie, she had to wait longer to do a movie with Bai. This materialized in the form of a 2021 release titled Fast Vengeance. In 2008, Kristina portrayed a murdered lesbian in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Also, she kissed Alexia Rasmussen in Proxy (2014). As for Natalie, she kissed Anna Shields in The Executioners (2018).
These two women are directors. Catherine was previously photographed with Bai Ling at the 2003 Maui Film Festival. Julie directed a film about a bisexual woman i.e. Frida (2002). The star, Salma Hayek, and Bai were in Wild Wild West (1999). Salma literally had her back in April 2005 when they attended the 10th Palm Beach International Film Festival at the Boca Raton resort in Florida. Catherine Hardwicke and Julie Taymor were in the running to direct the Wonder Woman movie back in 2014. Ironically, February of that year was when it was reported that Catherine’s pilot for MTV’s Eye Candy was going to be reshot. She was replaced with Russell Mulcahy. Adding to the sting was that Catherine retained an executive producer credit for the aired pilot. Taking some of the pressure off in terms of embarrassment was the fact that all of the cast were replaced with the exception of Victoria Justice and Harvey Guillen. Victoria has never participated in a lesbian kiss.
There is a Twitter account called Encyclopedia of Lesbian Movie Scenes. The word movie should be replaced with media because there is a trove of TV scenes. I’m reminded of a useful site that I used - Lesbian Media Blog. I can imagine that Catherine Hardwicke would use these sites so as to see who is the best kisser or to quickly find out who hasn’t kissed whom. One of Catherine’s sapphic connections is Kristen Stewart, who had her photo taken with Bai Ling and fellow sapph Scout Taylor-Compton. The event was an after party for the Los Angeles premiere of Love Ranch at the Green Door lounge. This took place on June 23, 2010. Kristen did not act in the film but Scout did. Bai acted in it but Catherine did not direct. Other principals of the cast at the premiere were Taryn Manning (who’s experimented with women), Helen Mirren (I’ve already covered her) and Elise Neal (who later attended the New York premiere with Helen).
Elise had been a long-time friend of Taryn and Paula Jai Parker (who has known Bai Ling for just as long). Elise has enough WLW connections to confirm that this is not merely a case of being just guilty by association. Back to Scout, she later invited Bai to a dinner that she hosted in September 2010 i.e. the theme was K-Swiss shoes. Louise Linton is another director that Bai was photographed with. In April 2012, they attended the L.A. premiere after party for She Want Me at a supper club called Bugatta. Louise is also an actress. She kissed Shuya Chang in Me You Madness (2021) and had a sapphic scene with Joana Metrass in Out of Hand (2023).
In 2009, Izabella Miko kissed Jessica Paré in a photo shoot for a coffee book that might not have been published. The name of the book hasn’t been given but the name of the shoot was Slow Kiss. Elsewhere, Izabella kissed Lizzy Caplan in Crashing (2007). As for 2005, Izabella was photographed with Bai Ling at a private residence in Malibu. According to Getty Images, the name of the event was Crest Vivid White Nights Presents Fall For White Party. Izabella worked with the aforementioned Elise Neal on a TV series called The Cape (2011).
Angela kissed Anna Faris in May (2002) whereas Trisha appeared in a 2022 episode of The L Word: Generation Q. Angela and Bai Ling appeared in separate 1998 episodes of Touched by an Angel. The star of this series, Roma Downey, was so smitten with Bai that she could be seen holding her hands at Operation Smile's 30th anniversary gala. This took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on September 28, 2012. They met later on at the Salvation Army Sally Awards at the J.W. Marriot hotel in L.A. As for the above photos, Angela Bettis met Bai Ling at Sundance Film Festival. This was during Day 4 at the Reebok Retreat in Park City, Utah.
In March 2006, Bai posed with Trisha Simmons at the 2006 Diamond Lounge by DPA’s Nathalie Dubois in the Penthouse within the Peterson Automotive Museum. Two of Bai’s friends were at this event: Sharon Lawrence and Traci Bingham. Two months earlier, Bai had attended another Nathalie Dubois event. Later that year, in August, Bai attended Nathalie’s pre-Emmy garden party at the Frederic Fekkai Salon and Spa in Beverly Hills. The following bisexuals were in attendance: Alia Shawkat, Mae Whitman and Sharon Stone. Another Sharon attended - Lawrence. Bisexual Niecy Nash attended all three events.
In a 2011 episode of Femme Fatales, Crystal Allen had a nude kissing scene with Ana Alexander. In a 2015 episode of Grey’s Anatomy, Crystal kissed Sama Ramirez. In the above photo, Crystal and Bai Ling attended Warren Tricomi’s pre-Oscar suite at his salon in L.A. The event was sponsored by SEI Water.
In April’s Shower (2003), Honey Labrador kissed Trish Doolan before kissing Arly Jover. The film was written, directed and co-produced by Trish. Honey was the true star of a reality series called Queer Eye for the Straight Girl (2005). In the above photo, herself and Bai Ling attended Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios in Culver City.
This left-leaning lesbian was famous for being a close personal friend and hairstylist of Ellen DeGeneres. Lea was with Bai Ling backstage at the first Hollywood Beauty Awards presented by LATF (Los Angeles Times Fashion). The ceremony benefited Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). It took place at the Fonda Theatre. Lea’s clients include the following sapphists: Katie Cassidy (her main client), Amber Heard, Angie Harmon, Holland Taylor, Paris Hilton, Edie Falco and the aforementioned Kristina Klebe. Of particular note is Carrie-Anne Moss, who kissed several women in the Jessica Jones series. Lea Journo is Kris Jenner’s favourite hairdresser.
In 2019, the below comedian came out as queer. The photo actually confirms it when you factor in all of my Bai Ling articles. The real surprise is not that Roseanne Barr claims to put the Q in LGBTQ, the surprise is that lesbian comedian Rosie O’Donnell has never had her picture taken with Bai Ling. If O’Donnell can declare her adulation for Tom Cruise then she could do the same thing for a woman who has brought many sapphic women together. Bearing in mind that Rosie O’Donnell was more than happy to have her photo taken with Roseanne Barr in 2007 despite the fact that there was a 1994 episode of Saturday Night Live where Roseanne played her while Janeane Garofalo played Madonna.
Sherry Lansing was a powerful film studio executive who was reported to have been a closet bisexual. In April 1988, she can be seen putting the affect in affectionate with fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg at a restaurant party. Sherry was instrumental in casting two lesbians (Kelly McGillis and Jodie Foster) in The Accused (1988). Sherry certainly knew how to pick talent. She elevated the bisexual Lauren Holly from TV soap land to cinema history. Lauren became closer with Amanda Peet, who attended the same two events as Bai Ling - the fifth annual “Project A.L.S.” benefit gala in May 2005 and the premiere of The X-Files: I Want To Believe in July 2008.
Like Bai Ling, Lauren Holly didn’t mind being intimate with black women. One of Lauren’s friends was the bisexual Whitney Houston. If any sapphic woman could serve as an olive branch between white and non-white tribbers, it would be Bai (especially if the olive branch was a double-ended phallus). In Hollywood, non-platonic attraction can be so fickle that an affair can be described as going from dovetail to tailspin. In the below photo, Sherry Lansing attended the world premiere of Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre in L.A. Bai Ling was in this. A few years earlier, 2002, they attended another event - the 15th Carousel of Hope Ball. This charity gala was for children suffering from diabetes. The gala took place in Beverly Hills.
Nothing has been said online (at least in the public sense of online) about what the relationship was between Sherry and Kimberly Lansing. The latter was employed as an entertainment journalist and broadcast host. Kimberly was also a hostess for the World Poker Tour, and it just so happens that Bai Ling has a long history of attending poker events.
