This is a throwback to my Peacocking article. I figured that there was a meaning to women wearing peacock feathers. In that article, there were three women who I later found out had been photographed with Bai Ling - Jane Seymour, Paris Hilton and Thora Birch (who came out as bisexual two months ago). There is another woman, Bijou Phillips, who had worn a peacock feather but was never pictured with Bai Ling despite attending the same events due to having the same friends: Paris Hilton and Tara Reid. Samaire Armstrong had also befriended Paris. In November 2002, Samaire looked gay with her very short hair as she stood next to Paris at a Sims launch party. It’s not exactly an unfounded assumption since Samaire had sapphic moments with Carly Pope and Diora Baird in Concrete Blondes (2012). Michelle Trachtenberg, one of Samaire’s friends, had a sapphic moment with Katee Sackoff in Sexy Evil Genius (2013).
Samaire Armstrong was one of Lindsay Lohan’s best friends. They acted alongside each other in Just My Luck (2006). Bai Ling was also one of Lindsay’s friends since they looked so cosy while attending an after party for the Los Angeles premiere of The Tudors on March 26, 2007. Unlike Bijou Phillips, you can see Bai Ling and Samaire Armstrong in the same photos, albeit with Kimberly Stewart in between them. This was at the Ella Moss Spring 2005 show during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. It was held at Smashbox Studios on October 27, 2004 in Culver City, California. Bisexual actress Sophia Bush also attended this event, and was a friend of Samaire. Sophia knew Lindsay, and they have just finished working on a miniseries together called Count My Lies. It co-stars a bi actress named Shailene Woodley.
Allison Melnick was not an actress but a socialite who appeared on two of Paris Hilton’s reality TV shows. One of Allison’s friends is an actress who can be found on IMDB as Jeniffer Brooke. That strange spelling is typical of the Hollywood mentality. Jeniffer and Bai Ling appeared in separate episodes of the Angel TV series. A few years later, they took a photo with a businessman (Fawaz Gruosi) at a pre-Oscars party in the Soho House on February 23, 2007. On December 4 in the previous year, Jeniffer threw a birthday dinner featuring the following guests: Paris Hilton, Michelle Trachtenberg, Allison Melnick and Mena Suvari. As I mentioned in my Lotus Cult article, Mena has kissed five women in productions. Mena and Bai Ling were not only close friends of Carmen Electra but they appeared in a 2005 film called Edmond, starring William H. Macy. Carmen didn’t appear in this film but one of her friends did: Denise Richards. One of the actors in this film is a black man named Bokeem Woodbine, who had already worked with Bai Ling in The Breed (2001).
Another castmate in Edmond, Debi Mazar, was a regular in the same TV series as Samaire Armstrong - Entourage. Thora Birch attended the season 2 premiere party for Entourage in May 2005. Bai Ling appeared in a July episode called Chinatown. This aired a month before the premiere of Edmond. At the premiere party of the latter, producer Molly Hassell was rather flirty with Bai. Molly can speak Mandarin, and would later produce a remake of a film that Bai had acted in - The Crow (1994). A few years before Edmond, Molly had produced a Chinese film called Spring Subway (2002). As for Jeniffer Brooke, she is known as Jeniffer Goldman Freeman. However, doing a Getty Images search for Jeniffer Goldman resulted in some discoveries. She was a friend of Lindsay Lohan, Samantha Ronson (Lindsay’s lover), Emmanuelle Chriqui (sapphic kisser), Kimberly Stewart (a friend of the Osbournes) and Bijou Phillips (who kissed Kim Matulova in a 1999 film called Black and White).
About Jeniffer’s birthday party thrown in December 2005, Bijou was photographed alongside Katie Cassidy. In the previous month, they signed on to act in a film that went on to have different titles. I will settle on Spin (2007). Fellow queers Angela Trimbur and Amber Heard were in this. Katie Cassidy kissed Wendy Glenn in a 2009 episode of the Melrose Place reboot. Later, she kissed Tracy Spiridakos in Kill for Me (2013). Katie's sapphic reputation among inner circles is such that there was a 2018 novel called When Katie Met Cassidy. In December 2010, Katie attended the same L.A. event as Bai Ling i.e. the “Hollywood Style Awards” held at the Billy Wilder Theater inside the Hammer Museum. Mena Suvari also attended. About the above mash-up, it depicts a Utah party thrown by Paris Hilton during the Sundance Film Festival.
Eve Cooper appeared in a female-driven movie called Whip It (2009). It starred Ellen Page and Alia Shawkat. One of Page’s friends is a bisexual actress named Shannon Woodward. She had attended the above party on June 12, 2008. As for the women who I didn’t identify, the one on the left is Susan Campos. On September 18, 2021, Los Angeles Magazine published her article titled L.A.’s Role in the LGBTQ Liberation Movement Takes the Spotlight in a New Doc. The doc was L.A.: A Queer History by Gregorio Davila. About the black woman, she is Gabrielle Union. Eight days before the above party, Gabrielle was photographed in the same group shot as Bai Ling. It was at a jewelry launch party in Las Vegas. This was many years before audiences got to see Gabrielle being gay in L.A.’s Finest (2019) and Truth Be Told (2023).
Let’s get back to Alia Shawkat, she is bi. Like Mae Whitman, her childhood friend, Alia attended the same L.A. event as Bai Ling - Us Weekly’s Hot Young Hollywood party at the Spider Club. This was held on September 17, 2004. Other attendees included Bijou Phillips, Tara Reid, Paris Hilton, Samaire Armstrong, Brittany Snow and Caroline D’amore. The latter was photographed next to Bai on March 24, 2007. This wasn’t at night but much earlier on in the day. Kim Kardashian was also there. On March 23, Bai and Kim attended an event hosted by Kimora Lee Simmons. The presentation was a fashion event called KLS Fall 2007. On March 24, it was another fashion event - Dash Fall 2007. On August 24, 2015, Bai Ling had her photos taken with Kris Jenner and her daughter (a bisexual).
The photo with Kimberlin Brown is pertinent because it was taken at the Las Vegas jewelry event that I wrote about two paragraphs ago. The name of the company was Gravure Commitment. The event was held at the ICE night club. On March 14, 2025, there was a season 38 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful where Kimberlin kissed Lisa Yamada. The below event has a photo gallery on IMDB. The name of the gallery is “Emmy Awards 2004 - Entertainment Weekly Pre-Awards Party.” Unlike on Getty Images, Kyle Richards is identified in her dancing photo with Bai and Paris Hilton at Hollywood Athletic Club. Last year, Kyle indirectly identified herself as bi. Other sapphic actresses being attendees were Alia Shawkat, Mae Whitman, Lindsay Lohan, Laura Prepon, Roma Maffia, Garcelle Beauvais, Becky Wahlstrom and Robin Weigert.
With men, it’s a case of a dating cesspool. Just like how men can cock-block, they can clam-jam. Women can be guilty of both.
